About the Citizenship Program at OneAmerica

OneAmerica is a non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to building power in immigrant and refugee communities. We believe our democracy is stronger when everyone gets to vote and participate. That’s why we have been helping eligible legal permanent residents become citizens since 2008 through the Washington New Americans Program.

The Washington New Americans program offers many FREE services to help you complete your application for U.S. citizenship:

  • High-quality legal assistance near you
    • Citizenship Days: Attend a one-day citizenship application clinic with volunteer immigration attorneys and interpreters
    • In-office help: Make an appointment with any one of our nonprofit partner organizations, recognized by the Department of Justice
    • Legal referrals: If your case is too complicated for our program to take on, we’ll help you find a trusted, licensed immigration attorney
  • English and citizenship classes and study materials
  • Have a question about citizenship or where to find help near you? Call or text us in any language: 206-926-3924

Attend Our Citizenship Day Events

Citizenship Day is a FREE, day-long workshop where volunteer immigration attorneys, paralegals, and interpreters come together to provide assistance with citizenship applications. All lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders) interested in applying for U.S. citizenship are welcome to participate.

Our Values

OneAmerica organizes with immigrant and refugee communities across Washington State to make positive change. We help legal permanent residents become citizens; we ensure that citizens are registered to vote, and we ensure that voters are informed on the issues that impact their lives, families and communities.

Other Resources for Citizenship

If you can’t attend our next Citizenship day, don’t worry. You can receive assistance at little to no cost at a nonprofit immigration services provider – find one near you here, and make an appointment. Or, you can contact a trusted immigration attorney near you. We also recommend CitizenshipWorks, a safe, free online tool that helps you begin filling out the application for citizenship yourself.
